The printer installation from the steadyPRINT WebCenter offers a remote installation of a new printer on selected print servers. In addition, DHCP reservations and DNS entries can be optionally created during printer installation.

A printer can also be removed from the print environment via remote uninstallation.

For the integration of the remote uninstallation, the mandatory steadyPRINT Server service is required on each of the managed print servers. Thus, the printer installation and printer configuration with all necessary permissions is delegated.

The automatic DHCP reservation and the configuration of the DNS entry is again delegated to the steadyPRINT Server service. However, a service user with writing permissions is required. It is recommended to perform the installation on a dedicated computer or to use a print server as an alternative. The configuration of which steadyPRINT Server service makes the entries for both the DHCP as well as the DNS server is done subsequently and can be modified at any time.

Note: If a domain user  is used as service user for the steadyPRINT Server service, the steadyPRINT API must be restarted once after the change!
