steadyPRINT VPD supports out-of-the-box SecurePrint solutions of other manufacturers. A print job is transparently forwarded to the manufacturer's print queue. Depending on the configuration, the manufacturer's different SecurePrint solutions, however, require the login name of the respective user in oder to correctly carry out the assignment of the print jobs. In case VPD is used, the print job owner is generalized due to technical reasons and for reasons of data protection. This may lead to problems depending on the SecurePrint solution in use which might then no longer be able to assign the print job to the correct owner.
If, however, the SecurePrint solution is able to use the document name for the evaluation of the user, it can be deliberately modified by means of a parametrization. The VPD setting (Settings > Virtual Printing > General > Adjustment of document name in print queue) allows the adjustment of the document name before the document is forwarded to the SecurePrint printer queue of the manufacturer.
