Database cache in the steadyPRINT reporting

Description of the problem

In the following, the steadyPRINT reporting function as of version 7.0.0 is to be specified.

Solution

The data objects are shared via different reports.

Should you, for example, open the report „network printer“ and subsequently the report „network printer without assignment“, the same data objects will be used by both reports. Therefore, steadyPRINT will provide the objects already known in order to accelerate the loading of all following reports.

During the term of the steadyPRINT Center, the lifetime of the cache is 10 minutes and currently not adaptable.

This cache is cleared at the latest when the steadyPRINT Center is closed.

In case you want to force the clearing of the cache before the steadyPRINT Center is closed and before the 10 minutes limit expires, the following options are available:

• • Press “F5” on your keyboard during the running operation of the steadyPRINT Center.
  • Go to the ribbon of the steadyPRINT Center and press the button „Print environment“-„Center update“ under “Start”.

This cache also applies for sending reporting profiles. In this scenario, the cache is not shared between reporting profiles on a given service.
